Julien Merlet has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Julien started their career as a Project Manager Internal Communication at Richemont in 2002. Julien then worked as an Assistant Product Manager at Pierre Frey in 2003, L'Oréal in 2004, and Moët & Chandon in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a Product Manager at JTI, where they coordinated new product development and analyzed brand performances. In 2008, they became a Brand Manager at Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët, where they oversaw packaging updates, global advertising campaigns, and digital activities. In 2011, they joined Pernod Ricard, where they held roles such as Senior Brand Manager, Marketing Manager, and Head of Marketing. At Pernod Ricard, they played a key role in defining brand strategies, developing brand activation plans, and driving market share and profitability. Currently, they work as the Global Brand Director Royal Salute at Chivas Brothers since 2022.

Julien Merlet has a diverse education history spanning different institutions and fields of study. In 1995, they attended Lycee St Martin Angers, where they pursued a Bac degree in Economy. From 1998 to 2000, they attended Lycee St Joseph du Loquidy Nantes, where they pursued a general field of study. Julien then went on to TBS Education from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Master's degree in Marketing/Marketing Management, General. In 2018, they attended INSEAD for executive education, specifically focusing on Leadership Development.
