Yaning Wang has had a varied work experience, starting with a research student role at the University of Surrey in 2003. In 2007, they moved to Plasmon as a software engineer, then to China Asset Management Company as Vice President in 2009. Since 2014, they have been working as an Associate Director at China Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited.

Yaning Wang received their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2002. Yaning then pursued their PhD in Electronics and Telecommunications at the University of Surrey, which they completed in 2008.
