Waylon Johnston has a diverse work experience in various communication and journalism roles. Waylon worked as an Internal Comms & Employer Branding Manager at Chiliz from June 2021 to the present. Prior to that, they served as a Corporate Comms & Content Manager at Chiliz from August 2018 to June 2021. Waylon was a Communications and PR Consultant at Self-Employed from April 2018 to August 2018. Waylon also worked as a Communications Manager at Betsson Group from April 2016 to April 2018, where they handled internal and external communications, developed communication strategies, and produced video content. Before that, Waylon was a Freelance Planning Producer at Sky News from August 2015 to March 2016, responsible for generating story ideas and facilitating communication between departments. Waylon gained valuable journalism skills as a Broadcast Journalism Graduate at City, University of London from September 2014 to June 2015, where they produced news shows for radio and television. Waylon started their career as a Multi-Media Journalist at Times of Malta, covering court and crime stories from December 2007 to September 2014. Waylon maintained professional relationships with individuals such as lawyers, MPs, judiciary members, and police officers to ensure accurate reporting.

Waylon Johnston attended the University of Malta from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Communications with European Studies. In 2012 to 2013, they pursued a Diploma in Journalism at the Press Association. Waylon later attended City, University of London from 2014 to 2015, where they completed a degree in Broadcast Journalism, with a focus on Radio and Television production.
