Jared Kirui, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Research Assistant at the Children's Medical Research Institute since March 2023. Previously, Jared held the position of Senior Technical Officer at Western Sydney University from June to December 2022. Jared completed a PhD at TWINCORE - Center for Experimental and Clinical Infection Research, where the focus was on virology, from October 2017 to July 2021, and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the International Livestock Research Institute from August 2015 to August 2017, contributing to vaccine platform development. An internship at RIKILT Wageningen UR involved using Next Generation Sequencing for detecting genetically modified products in food and feed. Earlier experience includes working as a Laboratory Technologist at the United States Army Medical Research Unit in Kenya, focusing on HIV detection and related analyses. Jared's educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Laboratory Technology from Makerere University.
