Carol Schauer began their work experience in 1997 as the Development Director for the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center. In this role, they were responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual and major donors and event sponsors. Carol also oversaw and implemented all special events and served as a spokesperson for the organization. Carol held this position until May 2003, when they joined Children's Medical Center as the Vice President of Development for Collin County. In this role, they led a successful $15 million capital campaign to build a second location of Children's Medical Center in Plano. Carol completed the campaign in five years with the assistance of a volunteer leadership committee. After the opening of Children's Medical Center at Legacy in August 2008, Carol assumed the role of Major Gift Officer for this campus. In 2011, they were promoted to Senior Gift Officer and took on additional responsibilities within the Foundation, including grants and working with corporate partners. Carol's most recent promotion is to Vice President of Development, Collin County, where they are tasked with cultivating the growing community and building a team of development officers.
