Kim Kofron's work experience includes serving as the Director of Early Childhood Education at CHILDREN AT RISK, a non-partisan research and advocacy nonprofit focused on addressing child poverty and inequality. Kim also held the position of Executive Director at the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TXAEYC), where they oversaw daily operations and programs. Additionally, Kim worked as the Vice President of Advocacy at TXAEYC, collaborating with the board to advocate for the needs of the early care and education field. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Campus-Based Services for Elementary Schools and Non-Profit Organizations at Sylvan Learning. Kim also worked as the Manager of Education at Learning Care Group/The Children's Courtyard and held the role of Past President at the Austin Association for the Education of Young Children.
Kim Kofron's education history begins in 1991 when they enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Kim completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Child Development Family Studies in 1995. Following that, they attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1997 to 1999, where they obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Early Childhood Special Education.
