Liz Barton serves as the Managing Deputy General Counsel for Chicago Public Schools since January 2019, providing oversight for litigation, transactions, and investigations within the Board of Education's law department. With previous roles as Assistant Deputy General Counsel and Senior Assistant General Counsel, Liz has managed federal litigation and advised on various civil rights and employment law matters. Liz is also an adjunct faculty member at The John Marshall Law School, teaching appellate advocacy, and has experience as a Senior Associate Attorney at HeplerBroom LLC and an Associate Attorney at Ancel Glink Diamond Bush DiCianni & Krafthefer, P.C., focusing on civil rights violations and municipal liability. Liz holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
