Shingo Murata is a seasoned professional in sports analytics and software engineering with extensive experience in the baseball industry. Currently serving as the Baseball Analytics Manager and Pacific Rim Liaison for the Chicago Cubs since December 2021, Shingo previously worked with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles from November 2016 to November 2021, holding positions such as Director of Baseball Team Strategy and Analytics, where responsibilities included managing team payroll, conducting exit interviews, and automating scouting materials. Shingo's career also encompasses roles in technical product management and project coordination at various organizations, including Narrative Science and STATS LLC, focusing on data engineering and client management. A graduate of Swarthmore College with a degree in Computer Science, Shingo has also contributed to the sports community as a freelance writer and tennis instructor.
