Heather Betancourth is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in community relations and public outreach. Currently serving as the Communications Lead for the Golden Triangle Polymers Project at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, Heather oversees community affairs and external communications for a major $8.5 billion joint venture. Heather also holds the role of Regional Community & Government Relations Representative, managing relationships for two significant petrochemical manufacturing facilities. Additionally, Heather serves as an elected City Council Member for Baytown, Texas, where responsibilities include representing approximately 15,000 constituents and chairing the Finance Committee. Heather's prior roles include content specialist at McDermott International Inc., internal communications writer at NASA Johnson Space Center, and section editor at the Houston Chronicle. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Professional Writing and Technical Communication from the University of Houston-Downtown and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Houston.
