Mikaela Briones is an experienced professional with a robust background in international affairs and program management. Currently serving as an Operations Associate at the Famine Early Warning Systems Network since February 2021, Mikaela contributes to the management of significant USAID-funded projects. Previously, Mikaela worked as a Regional Business Unit Assistant at Chemonics International, supporting both the FEWS NET and the Regional Integrated Stronger Economies Project. Mikaela's experience includes roles as a Student Assistant with the Center for Global Engagement, where event programming promoted cultural awareness; an Interpreter and ESL Tutor at the Educational Partnership Initiative; an intern at the Organization of American States focusing on diplomatic protocol; a Foreign Service intern at the Embassy of Canada; and multiple internships in security and access control at Datawatch Systems. Mikaela holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Modern Foreign Languages from James Madison University.
