Karl Grunawalt has extensive experience in the financial services industry, serving as Executive Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer at Talmer Bank and Trust since February 2014. Prior to this, Karl held various leadership roles at KeyBank from 1993 to 2013, including EVP and Director of Payments & Specialty Credit, where significant growth in asset-based lending occurred under Karl’s management. Karl also excelled as EVP and Director of Community Bank Credit Risk Management, overseeing substantial credit functions and outperforming peer portfolios post-2008 recession. Earlier experience includes key positions at Society National Bank and AmeriTrust Company N.A., where Karl managed loan workouts, asset management, and corporate finance initiatives. Karl holds an MBA in Finance/Accounting from Case Western Reserve University and a BA in Economics from Kenyon College.
