Rick M. is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in software engineering and security analysis. Currently serving as the Software Engineering Tech Lead at Checkmarx since October 2024, Rick also co-leads the ZAP Project for OWASP since May 2014. Previous roles include Senior Cyber Security Advisor at the House of Commons of Canada from July 2016 to October 2024 and Sr. Application Security Analyst at Bell Canada from July 2007 to July 2016. Early career experiences include positions at MTS Allstream Inc. and Ingenius Engineering, where Rick developed expertise in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments, contributing to effective security configurations and practices across various projects. Rick holds educational credentials from St. Lawrence College and South Carleton HS.
