Erez Yalon has an extensive work experience in the field of security research and development. Erez is currently working at Checkmarx, where they hold the position of VP of Security Research since December 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Director of Security Research from January 2021 to December 2021 and as the Director of Security Research from July 2019 to January 2021. Erez also worked as the Manager of Application Security Research from January 2017 to July 2019 and as the Application Security Lead from November 2015 to December 2016 at Checkmarx. Before joining Checkmarx, Erez worked as a Software Developer at the company from March 2015 to November 2015.

Aside from their work at Checkmarx, Erez has also made significant contributions as the Founder of AppSec Village since October 2018, and as the API Security Project Leader at OWASP Foundation since December 2018.

Prior to their roles at Checkmarx, Erez worked as a Software Developer at InfinityLabs R&D from September 2014 to March 2015, and as an Information Security Manager at Lihu Kolton & Associates from January 2012 to August 2014.

Erez Yalon earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology, General from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 2001 to 2004. Erez then pursued further education in Veterinary Medicine at the same institution, completing their degree from 2006 to 2011. In 2016, Erez obtained a certification as a Hacking Defined Expert from See-Security: Cyber & Information Security College.
