Dave Norwood serves as the Director of Municipal Services for Charter Township of Canton, overseeing divisions such as Planning, Building, Engineering, Public Works, and Facilities since December 2021. Previously, Dave held the position of Deputy Director within the Municipal Services Division at Canton Township, contributing to its leadership. In addition to current roles, Dave has been the Chairperson of the Southeast Michigan Regional Energy Office since January 2016, focusing on sustainable energy initiatives. Prior to these positions, Dave worked for the City of Dearborn from 1994 to December 2021, where roles included Sustainability Coordinator and Director of the Department of Building & Safety, managing various codes and ordinances. Further contributions to the U.S. Green Building Council - Detroit Regional Chapter were made as Chair and Vice Chair. Dave holds a Juris Doctor in Environmental Law from Detroit College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
