As a grants manager at the Mott Foundation, Ashley Johnson is responsible for reviewing both domestic and international grant recommendations, making sure they comply with all legal and financial laws and procedures. A lifelong resident of Flint, Michigan, she married her middle-school sweetheart, and they now are the parents of two small children and a very large rescue dog. Binge-watching television — when the kids are down for the night — is their chief form of entertainment these days, though Johnson also is an adventurous Italian cook when she has the time. A graduate of the University of Michigan-Flint’s School of Management, she has a bachelor’s in business administration with a focus on accounting and finance. Prior to joining Mott, the certified public accountant worked as an associate with Plante Moran, where she specialized in audits of nonprofit clients.
