Shawna Smith (Gotreau) has extensive experience in leadership and program management within the nonprofit sector, currently serving as the Chief Executive Director of Hope Builders since 1998, where responsibilities include driving the organization's mission to empower young adults through career opportunities and collaborating with the Board of Directors. Prior roles at Hope Builders included Associate Director, overseeing education and job-training programs, and Program Manager, where Shawna managed vocational training program operations. Shawna has also contributed as a Board Member for Charitable Ventures and served as Volunteer Coordinator/Case Manager at South County Outreach. Educational achievements include being a Marano Fellow in the Sector Skills Academy at the Aspen Institute and earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from Santa Clara University, along with a certification as a mediator from the Institute for Conflict Management.
