Hunter Lovins has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of sustainable management and business. Hunter is currently serving as the Managing Partner at NOW Partners since March 2022. Previously, they worked as the Chief of Impact at Change Finance, PBC starting from June 2016. Hunter also held the position of President at Natural Capitalism Solutions from 2002, where they played a significant role in promoting sustainable practices. Hunter has been a Professor of Sustainable Management at Bard MBA since 2009, and earlier, they served as a Professor of Sustainable Business at Bainbridge Graduate Institute from December 2010 to June 2014. Hunter was a Founding Professor of Sustainable Business Management at Presidio Graduate School from 2003 to 2010. Additionally, they co-chaired the Natural Capitalism Group from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, Hunter was a Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Rocky Mountain Institute from 1982 to 2002. Hunter started their career as a Policy Advisor at Friends of the Earth from 1979 to 1981. Hunter's early experience includes working as an Assistant Director at TreePeople, where they played a crucial role in the California Conservation Project.
Hunter Lovins earned a BA in Political Studies and Sociology from Pitzer College in 1972. Hunter also obtained a JD degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles from 1972 to 1975. Later, in 1982, they were awarded an Honorary LHD from the University of Maine School of Law. In 2016, Lovins obtained a certification as a Certified Sustainability Professional from the International Society of Sustainability Professionals. Additionally, they are a member of the California Bar Association.
