Dr. Richard Glass, Jr. has a extensive work experience in the field of education. Dr. Richard currently holds the position of Regional Vice President of Operations at Chancelight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, where they focus on providing alternative education to scholars aged 16-21. Dr. Glass has also served as the Executive Director of Concerned Christian Men | Chicago, a nonprofit organization that empowers boys and young men to develop social and technical skills. Dr. Richard is the Founder & Chief Learning Officer of Boys Lab, an organization aimed at fostering learning for boys. Dr. Glass has held various leadership roles in schools, such as Assistant Principal for Academics & Teacher Development at Bronzeville Academy Charter School, Chief Executive & Education Officer at Ryan Banks Academy, Principal & Humanities Instructor at Phalen Leadership Academies, Principal at Legacy Charter School of Chicago, and Principal at Urban Prep Academies. Dr. Richard Glass, Jr. has a comprehensive education history. Dr. Richard obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Liberal Studies from Chicago State University in 1998. Dr. Richard then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago in 2005. In 2014, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from the Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership. Additionally, they earned a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) degree in Elementary Teaching from Northwestern University in 2016. Dr. Glass, Jr. continued their education journey with a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University in 2017. Dr. Richard furthered their specialization in education by achieving a Master of Education degree in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2019. Currently, they are pursuing a Superintendent Endorsement in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Illinois at Chicago - Graduate College, expected to be completed in 2024.

Dr. Richard obtained a Professional Educator License in Elementary Education (K-9), LBS1, and Principal from the Illinois State Board of Education in 2005. Dr. Richard completed the Chicago Public Schools: Leading for Change program at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in 2008. In 2016, they became a Chicago Principal Fellow through Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management. Dr. Glass, Jr. further enhanced their knowledge and skills by obtaining certificates in School Management and Leadership, specifically in Leading Change and Leading Schools, from Harvard University in 2020. Additionally, they obtained the Teacher and Principal Evaluator certification from the Illinois State Board of Education in 2022. Dr. Richard has also earned a Grant Seeking Essentials Certificate from NonprofitReady, which is expected to be obtained in 2023.
