Recently retiring from the public school system after 32 years of teaching, Kevin Parker decided to join iCEV to continue pursuing his passion for Career and Technical Education.

Parker taught various agriculture courses around the Houston area. While teaching at Stuart Career Center in Baytown, TX, Parker received the Teacher of the Year award. Parker also served as the Area III FFA Treasurer for 20 years, served on the State VATAT Board of Directors for nine years, and served on the State FFA Board of Directors for three years. However, he says his favorite aspect of teaching was seeing the growth in his young students.

"There's nothing more rewarding than knowing the colleagues and him have made a real difference in the students' lives," Parker said.

Parker says he enjoys working with CTE teachers because they understand the importance of building a relationship with their students, which helps the process of making their rigorous programs relevant in students' lives.
