Dr Tap is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed internships and residency training in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. His training in oncology and hematology included 36 months as a Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. The management of solid tumors and all subtypes of sarcomas have been the focus of Dr Tap’s practice in addition to his extensive experience in translational medicine. He is currently overseeing the charge of clinical, basic science, and transitional aspects of Sarcoma Medical Oncology Programs at MSKCC. He has been developing an Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) clinic in the Sarcoma Service, which will soon expand to other solid tumor groups and further down the line, to other services at MSKCC. Dr Tap has an interest in Global Health Care initiatives, specifically in effecting health disparity in underserved areas of the world. For many years he has worked closely with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and other committees in trying to change the landscape of these global issues while also spreading knowledge and awareness of soft tissue solid tumors.
