Jon Harman

Technology Delivery Director at Ceres

Jon Harman has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jon began their career as a Design Engineer at Thomson Entertainment, where they gained experience in engineering design and CAD systems. Jon then joined Thales Training & Simulation, first as a Principal Hardware Engineer and later as a Team Leader in Mechanical Engineering, managing a team and overseeing the design and development of hardware systems for flight simulators.

Following their time at Thales, Jon worked at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy as a Lead Design Engineer and Engineering Project Manager, where they led a team in the design and evaluation of systems for the ITER project. Jon then moved on to EFDA, where they served as a Senior Design and System Integration Engineer, managing design and analysis work for the Nuclear Fusion Demonstration Reactor.

Beginning in 2010, Jon joined Ceres Power, first as a Senior Principal Engineer in Safety Case and later taking on roles with increasing responsibility. Jon served as Director of Advanced Engineering, where they led the delivery of advanced engineering programs and ensured the integration of best practices for technology development. Jon then became Director of E-Fuels Programmes, working on the development and licensing of solid oxide electrolysis technologies for the production of green hydrogen and green chemicals. Currently, Jon holds the position of Technology Delivery Director at Ceres, overseeing the delivery of technology programs and developing a technology management practice aligned with the organization's licensing business model.

Jon Harman attended Imberhorne School from 1985 to 1992, where they earned 10 GCSE's and A Levels in Maths, Physics, and English Literature. Afterwards, they went on to study at the University of Hertfordshire from 1992 to 1996, graduating with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
