Vadim Kataev is an experienced Principal Research Engineer currently at Cerence Inc. since October 2019, focusing on large scale language models (LLMs), automatic speech recognition (ASR) models, and containerized automation tools. Prior to this role, Vadim served at Nuance Communications for nearly a decade, where responsibilities included leading the development of distributed training systems for ASR product models and progressing from Software Engineer to Principal Research Engineer. Earlier career experiences include contributing to DSP systems at Ikon, developing FPGA-based tools at the University of Paderborn, and programming for various research projects at C-LAB and other academic institutions. Vadim holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Paderborn University, earned between 2003 and 2009.
