Ana I. Fernandez Salina is a seasoned project manager and principal investigator at CER Groupe since March 2023. Previously, Ana served as a grants consultant at Leyton and held the position of senior postdoc and project leader at VIB from September 2016 to June 2021, where responsibilities included designing projects and supervising numerous PhD and master’s students. Ana's academic journey began with a junior postdoctoral researcher role at Ghent University from September 2012 to August 2016, developing expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry, supported by a 3+3 years FWO postdoctoral grant. Ana’s scientific career commenced as a research scientist at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from July 2001 to August 2003, contributing to foundational skills in analytical thinking and molecular biology techniques. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Plant Molecular Biology from Ghent University and a Master's degree in Microbiology from Havana University.
