Dr. Sheridan Coakes is a seasoned expert with over 25 years of research and applied experience in Social Impact Assessment, social impact management, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Board Member for the Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme since July 2022, Dr. Coakes also holds the position of National Social Practice Lead at Umwelt Australia since August 2013. Previously, Dr. Coakes directed Coakes Consulting, specializing in social impact and community engagement from 1998 to September 2013, and worked as a Senior Social Scientist at the Social Sciences Centre, Bureau of Resource Sciences from 1996 to 1997, as well as a Social Impact Specialist at the Social Impact Unit, Department of Primary Industries and Energy from 1994 to 1996. Dr. Coakes obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology from Curtin University and has collaborated extensively with industry, government, and diverse communities across Australia.
