Walaaeldin Moustafa

Certified Clinical Research Coordinator at Centricity Research

Walaaeldin Moustafa has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and research fields. Walaaeldin began their career as a Cardiac Surgery Registrar at Saud Al-babtain Cardiac Centre in 2005, where they managed postoperative care, interviewed patients, and assisted in cardiac surgery procedures. Walaaeldin then worked as an Assistant Cardiac Surgeon at King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah from 2011 to 2012, performing various cardiac surgeries as the main surgeon.

In 2012, Moustafa transitioned to the field of clinical research and worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at Lambda Therapeutic Research. There, they monitored clinical trials, ensured compliance with protocols, and entered data using Excel spreadsheets.

Moustafa continued their career in clinical research as a CRC at LMC Healthcare from 2021 to 2022. In this role, they worked on studies ranging from Phases I-III, prepared and tracked regulatory documents, conducted clinical trial procedures, and monitored trials.

Walaaeldin also held the position of Clinical Assistant at St. Boniface Hospital Foundation from 2020 to 2021, where they assisted in cardiac surgery procedures including open conduit harvest.

Lastly, Moustafa served as an Assistant Consultant at King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah from 2013 to 2020. In this role, they performed and assisted in various cardiac surgeries, including sternotomy, vessel cannulation, and chest closure. Walaaeldin also participated in the heart transplant program and managed patient care for cardiac surgery patients.

Walaaeldin Moustafa has a Master's degree in Cardiovascular Disease from Alexandria University, which they obtained from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Alexandria University from 1994 to 1999. In addition, they have obtained a certification as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC®) from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals in October 2022.
