David Valder, CEM, PEM, currently serves as the Director of Energy and Sustainability at Central Piedmont Community College since November 2016. As a Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Crown Town Compost since July 2014, David has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability initiatives. Previous roles include Sustainability Project Coordinator at Belk from September 2014 to October 2016, and Research Assistant at Appalachian State University, where David focused on engaging with the Hispanic community. Additional experience includes serving as a Long Term Volunteer and Community Liaison with the Sister Island Project, a Community Outreach Specialist with Sustain Charlotte, and a Community Sustainability Intern with the City of Charlotte. David holds a BS in Global, Regional, and Community Development from Appalachian State University.
