Olaf van Vliet is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of economics and public administration. Currently serving as a Principal Investigator at TransEuroWorkS since November 2022, Olaf leads a consortium awarded a Horizon Europe grant of 3.4 million euros. As a Professor of Economics and Comparative Welfare State Analysis at Leiden University since 2006, Olaf has held various roles, including Head of Department and Associate Professor. Additional appointments include Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Chair of the Expert Committee on Labour at the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek. Olaf is also an active board member of multiple organizations, including IMISCOE Research Network and the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre Governance of Migration and Diversity. Olaf holds a PhD in Economics from Leiden University alongside degrees in Economics and Public Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Leiden University.
