Mike Gutman

Workforce Development / Social Impact at Center on Rural Innovation

Michael Gutman serves as a Microsoft TechSpark Fellow, focusing on workforce development in rural communities using Microsoft's tools and leadership. With extensive experience in social impact and education, Michael works at the Center on Rural Innovation, developing programs for equity and mobility, and supports remote learning initiatives as an honorary member of the Remote-First.Institute. As a consultant for Succeed Remotely, Michael advises on remote and hybrid work policies and has authored widely used courses on remote work for LinkedIn Learning, benefiting over 800,000 learners. Michael's past roles include Senior Remote Learning Designer at 2U and Director of Marketing at FlexJobs, contributing to various workforce development initiatives and creating impactful learning experiences. Michael holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and has completed coursework in energy auditing at Lake Tahoe Community College.
