Don Griswold is a Senior Fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities since June 2023, focusing on eradicating abusive tax avoidance and promoting inclusive prosperity through research-based analysis of the U.S. tax system. Previously, Griswold served as Executive Tax Counsel at Berkshire Hathaway Inc. from 2016 to 2017, providing advice to the parent company and its various business units. As an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center from 2011 to 2016, Griswold taught state and local tax law. Griswold's experience also includes being a Partner at McDermott Will and Emery from 2001 to 2008, where guidance was offered to large corporate clients on tax matters, and serving as National Partner-in-Charge at KPMG from 1993 to 2001, where leadership was provided to a national practice focused on state tax minimization. Educational qualifications include a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and a JD from Boston University School of Law.
