Karla Torres is a seasoned human rights attorney with extensive experience in reproductive rights and social justice advocacy. Currently serving as Senior Human Rights Counsel at the Center for Reproductive Rights since October 2017, Karla leads initiatives focused on policy, advocacy, and legal strategies related to assisted reproduction in the U.S. Previous roles include Program Officer at Equality Now, where Karla collaborated with grassroots organizations to address sexual violence and human rights violations, and Assistant Director of the Reproductive Rights Initiative at Human Rights Law Network in Delhi, where Karla managed advocacy projects and litigation efforts to improve sexual and reproductive health rights in India. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor and a Master’s Degree in International Relations, both obtained from American University in 2011, along with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Trinity College-Hartford.
