Ashis Mawla is an experienced professional in socioeconomic and environmental assessment, currently serving as an Associate Specialist at the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) since December 2020. Previously, Ashis held the position of Junior Specialist at CEGIS from December 2017 to September 2022, with initial involvement as a consultant since September 2015. Ashis has a strong background in conducting Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) studies as part of a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Project Officer for the Women Friendly Hospital Initiative at Naripokkho and positions at Development Research Associate and BARCIK, focusing on research methodologies and fieldwork. Ashis holds a Masters of Social Science in Cultural Anthropology from Dhaka University, completed in 2011, and a Secondary School Certificate in Science from Barisal Zila School, obtained in 2000.
