Deirdre Coleman is an experienced professional in community energy planning and program management, currently serving as Community Energy Program Manager and Community Energy Planner at the Center for Energy and Environment since November 2019. In addition to this role, Deirdre has been involved with Big Island and Back Paddle and Ski since August 2014 as a Community Event Planner and Fundraiser. Prior experience includes serving as a Bookkeeper at Midwest Mountaineering from September 2005 to November 2021 and as Educational Programs and Volunteer Manager at Freshwater Society from June 2010 to November 2019, where responsibilities included citizen engagement programming, volunteer management, and grant administration. Deirdre holds a degree in Biology, Society, and the Environment, with a focus on renewable energies, from the University of Minnesota, obtained between 2005 and 2008.
