Joel Carlman is an experienced executive and consultant with a diverse background in financial services, global engagement, and development finance. As the Executive Director of Project Renew since January 2020 and the Director of Global Engagement at Nexus Vivus International, Joel actively contributes to impactful initiatives. Joel's extensive experience also includes serving as the Editor of Finance Forward and a Part-Time Analyst at the Centre for Financial Regulation and Inclusion (CENFRI). Previous roles include Senior Consultant at Acumen Solutions, Country Representative at Mobile Accord, Inc., and a Kiva Fellowship in Kisumu, Kenya. Joel began the career in the financial sector with positions at Wells Fargo Investments and OppenheimerFunds. Joel holds an MPhil in Futures Studies and a Master's in Development Finance from Stellenbosch University, as well as a BS in Business Psychology and Administration from Pepperdine University.
