Christian Silva has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and engineering. Christian started their career as an Intern at the Melbourne University Biomedical Engineering Society, where they conducted research in the Biomechanics Research Group. Christian then worked as a Project Manager at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they implemented administrative systems and procedures. Christian also served as a Consultant Project Lead for the same university.
Later, they joined the Universidad Manuela Beltrán as an Associate Researcher, contributing to research projects. Christian further expanded their experience by working as an Intern PhD Researcher at UCL and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
In 2018, Christian joined CELLINK as an Intern PhD Candidate, where they gained expertise in life-science solutions and contributed to advancements in academic and clinical medicine. Christian continued their journey at CELLINK and served as a Field Application and Service Engineering/Customer Care Specialist & Outside Sales Representative, where they installed and demonstrated engineering services, converted leads into opportunities, and supported distributors. Christian also acted as a Technical Sales Engineer, focusing on pre and post-sales support.
Prior to their work at CELLINK, Christian worked as a Technical Product Manager and Product Owner at BICO and Michael Page, respectively. In these roles, they translated market requirements into technical specifications and managed the development of new products using agile methodologies and tools.
Before entering the industry, Christian founded and served as the CEO and Chief Technology Officer at Corporación FABRILAB, where they developed technology for the well-being of people.

Christian Silva attended Instituto Técnico Industrial “Francisco José de Caldas" from 1995 to 2001, where they obtained a Technical Bachelor's "Electricity and Electronics" degree.
From 2003 to 2009, Christian Silva pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
In 2011, Christian Silva completed a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, specializing in biomechanics.
During the same period from 2011 to 2014, Christian Silva also attended Impact English College, where they completed an Upper intermediate English Course in Australia, focusing on English language and literature.
Christian Silva further pursued their academic career at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering from 2015 to 2022.
In addition to their formal education, Christian Silva has earned several certifications. In 2010, they received a Bachelor's degree certificate in Mechatronic Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Christian also obtained a Master's degree certificate in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2011.
Christian Silva has actively contributed to the e-NABLE community, earning the title of e-NABLE Community Founding Member in 2014. Christian also achieved certification as an e-NABLE Chapter Lead in 2017. In the same year, Christian Silva received the 3D Printed e-NABLE Test Hand Approved certification from the e-NABLE Community. Lastly, they obtained the Speaker certification from Grandes Genios in July 2020.
