Daryl Friedman has a diverse range of work experience in the entertainment industry. Daryl currently serves as the Global President & CEO of CEDIA. Prior to that, they held various C-Suite executive roles at The Recording Academy since 2005, where they advocated for creative and technology professionals and led advocacy communications strategy.
Before joining The Recording Academy, Daryl served as the Founding Executive Director of the Washington, DC Chapter of the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF RECORDING ARTS & SCIENCES, INC. Daryl successfully grew the chapter by managing member engagement, education, and fundraising, earning him the Executive of the Year award in 1999.
Daryl's earlier experience includes their role as Senior Director of Communications and Public Relations at Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Daryl directed a team, managed a multimillion-dollar budget, and achieved record-breaking revenues for the arts complex over five consecutive years.
Daryl Friedman holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Arts/Nonprofit Management from American University, which they obtained in 1990. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1985.
