Rene Roy obtained a Ph.D. in Hydrology from the National Scientific Research Institute (Quebec) and worked over 30 years for Hydro Quebec in both its Generation Group and Research Institute (IREQ). He has been involved mostly in hydrological modeling, technological innovation and adaptation to climate change. In this context, he worked closely with the Ouranos Research Consortium, for which he was initially responsible for water and energy climate change related issues before taking on the position of Scientific Director. Its expertise in the fields of energy and climate change has been put to good use in various initiatives on the international scene. He now acts as a scientific and technical advisor for different organizations.
