Alberto Palazzolo is a postdoctoral researcher at CEA since May 2023, specializing in the synthesis and evaluation of plastic nanoparticles, particularly focusing on carbon-13 and carbon-14 isotopic labeling of polyethylene terephthalate nanoplastics. Prior to this role, Alberto worked as a chemical engineer at Nexdot from August 2021 to May 2023, where expertise in the colloidal synthesis of photoluminescent nanomaterials was developed. Alberto's previous experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at CNRS, studying the synthesis of bimetallic nanoparticles, and a doctoral research position at CEA, where hydrogen isotopes were used for labeling alcohols and nucleic acid derivatives. Alberto's early career involved an internship at Politecnico di Milano, focusing on the chemical modification of carbon allotropes. Alberto holds a diploma in pharmaceutical sciences with a specialization in medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry from Università di Catania.
