Bernardo Rebelo de Freitas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Bernardo began their career as a Researcher at IDMEC - Instituto de Engenharia Mecânica, where they conducted scientific research on heat transfer models for a combined cycle power plant. Bernardo then joined AD MENSURAM, LDA as an Energy Consultant, focusing on energy performance analysis, energy audits, and certification of buildings. Bernardo gradually moved up the ranks to become a Project Manager and Assistant General Manager, responsible for business strategy and planning. Next, they worked at VIVAPOWER - Energy Specialists as an Assistant Manager, overseeing the company's operational area and managing a team. Currently, Bernardo works at CBRE Portugal, where they have held various roles, including Head of the Technical Department, Director of Security, Head of ESG & Sustainability, and currently, Head of ESG - Property Management - Continental Europe. In their current role, they are responsible for ensuring security, safety, health, and sustainability standards across CBRE Portugal's property portfolio.

Bernardo Rebelo de Freitas has a diverse education history. Bernardo completed their MSc. in Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico from 2000 to 2007. In 2007, they attended INETI - Instituto Nacional de Engenharia, Tecnologia e Inovação, I.P. to specialize in Solar Thermal Energy Systems Design. In 2012 to 2013, they pursued a degree in Building Energy Expert (Level II) at ADENE - Agência para a Energia, focusing on the energy performance of buildings. Bernardo further enhanced their knowledge in energy performance contracts by obtaining a CMVP - Certified Measurement & Verification Professional degree from ADENE in 2013. In 2017 to 2018, Bernardo pursued a postgraduate degree in Security Management at Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa. Recently, in 2022, they attended the University of Cambridge to study Sustainable Real Estate. Additionally, they have completed courses in Solar Photovoltaic Energy Systems Design at Ixus Formação e Consultadoria, Lda., and pursued training in ISO 50001 through the Curso APMI. Bernardo's education reflects their commitment to acquiring expertise in diverse areas within the field of engineering and sustainability.
