Robert Bernard has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Robert currently holds the position of Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP Client Sustainability Solutions at CBRE since February 2023. Prior to this, they were the Managing Director and Founder of CommonWealth Equity Partners, LLC from October 2019, where they provided expert recommendations and direction for an equity firm that invested in companies participating in the circular economy.
Robert also served as a Strategic Advisor at Watsco Inc. from July 2021, providing skilled consultancy and advisement to senior leadership teams within the company. Before that, they worked at National Geographic as the Advisor and Global Head of Strategic Partnerships from October 2018 to July 2019. In this role, they conducted restructuring of the organization's technology strategy, managed partnerships with key corporations, and drove technology assessments to advance conservation.
Robert has a long tenure at Microsoft, starting from 1997. Robert served as the Chief Environmental Strategist for over 10 years, where they oversaw the company's sustainability efforts and implemented various environmental initiatives. Robert also held positions such as General Manager Global Software Partnerships, Senior Director of Program Management in Microsoft's Office Division, and Product Unit Manager of Microsoft's online Shopping and Auction networks.

Robert Bernard has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature, General from Columbia University. Robert also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance from The Wharton School.
