Shankar Desai is an accomplished IT executive with extensive experience at Caterpillar Inc. since 2003, currently serving as Director, overseeing global enterprise IT applications services, including data integration, cybersecurity, and innovation-driven technology initiatives. As Managing Director of Caterpillar India PVT. LTD., Shankar developed an operational model that scaled processes significantly and shaped a three-year strategic roadmap in collaboration with the executive management team. Prior roles include IT Director and Latin America Regional IT Manager, where Shankar led IT strategies, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple regions. Earlier career experience includes various technical and business leadership roles from 1985 to 2002. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Computer Science and an Executive MBA from Bradley University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Doctor Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
