Chief Firmware Architect at Casambi Technologies

Oleksandr Kononenko has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software development. Oleksandr started their career in 2000 as a Network Administrator and Software Developer at the Kharkiv Institute of Architecture Design. There, they provided technical support and administration for computer networks while also developing in-house software tools.

In 2003, they joined the University of Jyväskylä in Finland as a Researcher, where they were a member of a research group focused on promoting industrial applications of Semantic Web Technology.

In 2004, Kononenko began working at Nokia Technologies, starting as a Research Engineer. In this role, they contributed to the software development of Symbian, MeeGo, and S40 platforms, utilizing C/C++ and Qt/QtQuick. Oleksandr also played a part in the integration of web services with mobile devices and the design and implementation of communication and data-management middleware. Oleksandr later became a Senior Software Engineer, working on R&D projects in the area of sensor systems, and eventually became a Principal Software Engineer, specializing in embedded software development for sensor and measurement system products. Oleksandr worked with embedded Linux and RTOS software stacks, integrating custom hardware designs with software and occasionally implementing GUI test-client applications using programming languages such as C/C++ and Python. Oleksandr also worked with Xilinx MPSoC platforms and Vivado/Xilinx XSDK development platforms.

Since 2016, Kononenko has been employed at Casambi Technologies Oy. Oleksandr initially served as a Senior Software Specialist, focusing on embedded software development for Bluetooth-enabled lighting controller products. Their responsibilities included implementing industry standards for lighting control systems and supporting sensors, input devices, and commissioning tools. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Firmware Architect, where they lead the development of the company's core technology and products. Oleksandr is involved in system architecture, embedded software development, and support for operations and manufacturing systems. Oleksandr also serves as the lead developer of Casambi firmware and works on designing solutions for integration with lighting control systems, such as DALI gateway, emergency lighting, data export systems, and system APIs.

Kononenko's work experience showcases their expertise in firmware development, system architecture, and embedded software development. Oleksandr has a strong background in the development of lighting control systems and sensor systems, with experience in various programming languages and platforms.

Oleksandr Kononenko completed their education in a chronological order. Oleksandr first attended the Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics in Ukraine from 1998 to 2003, where they obtained a B.Sc. and Eng.Specialist in Information Technology. During their time at the university, they focused on computer science, software engineering, and artificial intelligence.

Following this, from 2002 to 2004, Oleksandr pursued a Master of Science degree at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. Their area of study during this period was mobile computing and mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Oleksandr has also obtained a Freshdesk product expert certification from Freshworks in March 2019. Oleksandr has also received certifications in "Introduction to Electronics" from Coursera Verified Certificates in December 2014, and "Linear Circuits" from Coursera in November 2014.
