Jim Chan has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jim currently works at Casambi Technologies as a Field Application Engineer, where they advise specifiers on wireless lighting solutions and supports business partners in building the Casambi ecosystem. Prior to that, they worked as a Lighting Designer and Programmer in the Concert/Events, Dance & Theatre industry, designing lighting setups for theatrical and dance productions and managing lighting technicians. Jim also served as a Lighting Technician at the School of the Arts Singapore. In the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Jim held the role of ICT Development Planning Officer, responsible for project planning and financial coordination. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance EVS Operator & Editor at FOX International Channels Asia, editing and replaying highlights for live sports broadcasts.

Jim Chan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, which they completed from 2013 to 2017. In addition, they obtained a certification in WSQ TT Lighting from WDA Singapore in August 2014. Jim Chan also holds a Professional Certification in Robotic Process Automation with UiPath, although the specific details regarding the institution and the timing of obtaining this certification are not provided.
