Honglei Zhang has a diverse work experience in the field of telecommunications and technology. Honglei started their career as a System Engineer intern at Analog Devices in 2004. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Research Associate at the University of Massachusetts. In 2009, they joined Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Co. Ltd., where they initially served as a Senior System Engineer, focusing on the physical layer system design of LTE small cell eNodeB and LTE UE. Honglei was later promoted to the role of Principal Engineer, responsible for the overall system design. In 2015, Honglei joined UNISOC as a Principal Engineer, where they contributed to the physical layer system design of eLTE-DSA modem chip for wireless private IoT markets, as well as the design and verification of NB-IoT modem ASIC. Honglei then transitioned to Casa Systems, Inc. in 2018, where they held the position of Principal Engineer, and eventually became the Technical Lead in Algorithms/Systems. In this role, they were involved in various responsibilities such as system design of 5G NR small cell, support for standard compliance and system integration testing, and performance optimization of DOCSIS 3.1 OFDMA upstream receiver.
Honglei Zhang completed a PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2001 to 2007. Prior to this, Honglei Zhang attended Xidian University, but the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
