Christopher McKee has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Christopher is currently working as an Information Scientist at CAS since June 2021. Before that, they held the position of Senior Chemist at Eurofins PSS Insourcing Solutions from March 2020 to May 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Biological Scientist at PAE from March 2018 to March 2020.
In addition to their industry roles, Christopher has served as an Adjunct Faculty in Microbiology at Columbus State Community College from May 2019 to December 2019. Christopher has also worked as a Lab Scientist 2 at the Ohio Dept Of Agriculture from March 2016 to March 2018, and as a Microbiologist at Richter International from March 2015 to March 2016.
Christopher has a strong research background as well. Christopher has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Ohio State University from October 2013 to June 2014, and at the USAMRIID, US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases from January 2012 to August 2013. In their role at USAMRIID, they developed specialized applications of mass spectrometry, surface plasmon resonance, and microarrays for biodefense research. This work was funded by an award from the National Research Council's Research Associateship Program (RAP). Christopher also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy from May 2010 to December 2011.
Early in their career, Christopher worked as a Microbiologist at the Ohio Dept Of Agriculture from April 2003 to May 2005.
Christopher McKee obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, General from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they studied from 1998 to 2001. Christopher then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at The Ohio State University from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, Christopher McKee attended Columbus State Community College for an unspecified period but did not obtain a degree in Computer Science. Christopher has also acquired various certifications, including Data Visualization for Data Analysis and Analytics from LinkedIn in July 2022, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from GoLeanSixSigma.com in March 2022, and MB(ASCP)cm - Technologist in Molecular Biology from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in June 2017. Christopher has also completed the Technical Support Fundamentals course from Google Career Certificates.
