Melissa Terrell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in business development and community engagement, currently serving as a Business Solutions Officer at the Carolina Small Business Development Fund since March 2022. Previously, Terrell held positions including BOWD Specialist at the NC Department of Transportation, where relationship building with Disadvantage Business Enterprises was key, and Community Engagement Specialist at NC DOA Historically Underutilized Businesses, where outreach efforts were implemented to support HUB certified vendors. Terrell has also worked as Assistant Director at the National Institute of Minority Economic Development, providing counseling and resources to small business owners, and began a career at the United States Postal Service as a Team Lead Associate. Terrell holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix.
