Akemi May has a strong background in art history and curatorial work. Akemi has held various positions at the Carnegie Museum of Art and is currently working as an Associate Curator of Works on Paper. Additionally, Akemi has experience as a University Lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University. Akemi's previous roles include being a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, Graduate Student Intern at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and a Serials Acquisitions Assistant at the Getty Research Institute. Akemi holds a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Architecture from UC Santa Barbara and a Master of Arts in Art History from Syracuse University.
