Eric P. Tranby

Director, Analytics And Data Insights at CareQuest Institute for Oral Health

Eric Tranby has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries and roles. Eric began their career as a Project Coordinator for the American Mosaic Project, where they developed grant proposals, supervised survey contractors, and designed questionnaires. Eric then worked as a Data Collection Manager for the Youth Development Study, managing the data collection process and conducting statistical analysis.

Tranby later became a Data Analyst for the same study, where they continued to analyze data and presented their findings at academic conferences. Eric also served as an Instructor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Minnesota, teaching sociology courses.

Tranby then transitioned to the role of Visiting Lecturer at Carleton College, where they taught courses in social policy, statistical methods, and research methodologies. Eric also advised students during their time there.

Following their experience in academia, Tranby joined the Higher Education industry as an Assistant Professor, focusing on public policies related to families and work-life balance. Eric conducted social science research and analysis, including statistical analysis.

Tranby then moved to the DentaQuest Partnership for Oral Health Advancement, where they worked as a Consulting Biostatistician. In this role, they managed and conducted statistical analysis for large and complex datasets to develop policy recommendations to improve health and the customer experience.

Currently, Tranby holds the position of Director of Analytics & Data Insights at the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health. Eric leads a team of analytics and data warehousing professionals and oversees research, development, and implementation of data systems to improve organizational performance.

Prior to their current role, Tranby worked as a Manager, Data and Impact at the same institute, where they supervised a team and was responsible for overseeing business intelligence activities and measurement projects. Eric also led cloud data migration and modernization efforts for increased efficiency and reduced costs.

Throughout their career, Tranby has demonstrated expertise in data analytics, statistical analysis, research, and teaching.

Eric Tranby's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Carleton College, which they obtained between 1999 and 2002. Eric then pursued a Master's degree in Sociology at the University of Minnesota from 2002 to 2005. Continuing their studies at the University of Minnesota, Eric completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Sociology between 2005 and 2010.
