Sarah Mackney has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Sarah began their career as an Intern and Resident Medical Officer at Concord Hospital in 2011. From 2013 to 2021, they worked at the Royal Darwin Hospital, holding various roles such as Doctor, Emergency Registrar, and Senior Registrar in Emergency Medicine. During this time, they also served as a Paediatric Registrar and an Intensive Care Registrar. In 2019, they briefly worked as a Senior Emergency Medicine Registrar at Palmerston Regional Hospital. Sarah then joined CareFlight in 2018, where they have held positions including Retrieval Registrar, Medical Retrieval Consultant, and is currently the Deputy Medical Director since August 2023.
Sarah Mackney completed their Bachelor of Medical Science degree at the University of Wollongong from 2004 to 2006. Sarah then pursued a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the same university, which they completed from 2007 to 2010. Later, Sarah obtained their Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine degree from James Cook University, studying from 2012 to 2014.
