Arne Backhaus has held a variety of roles in the medical field since 2008. Arne began their career as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in 2008. In 2011, they joined AMS Advanced Medical Services as a Clinical Project Manager and Clinical Research Associate. In 2015, they were promoted to Regulatory Affairs Manager and Project Manager at AMS ADVANCED MEDICAL SERVICES LIMITED. In 2018, they moved to Sandoz as a Clinical Research Manager. In 2020, they were appointed Head of Study Center at Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Cardior Pharmaceuticals as a Clinical Project Manager.

Arne Backhaus completed their MSc in Biochemistry from Leibniz Universität Hannover in 2008. In 2020, they received a European Business Law: Understanding the Fundamentals certification from Coursera, a Business Management Program certification from International Business Management Institute (IBMI), and a Privacy in Europe certification from Coursera.
