John J. Kegan is the current Director at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children. John has held this position since October 2014. Prior to that, they were the Director of Education/ Principal at Cardinal Hayes School for Special Children from July 2013 to October 2014. Before that, they were the Interim School Administrator at Beacon High School from September 2005 to January 2006.

John J. Kegan has been in the education field since 1970 when they started as a teacher in Yorktown Heights, NY. John later became an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent in Nanuet, NY in 1982. In 1983, they moved to Scarsdale Public School as a Middle School Assistant Principal and then to Hyde Park Central School District in 1999 as a K-6 Principal at Hyde Park Elementary School. John held that position for two years until 2001 when they left to become the Director at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children.

John J. Kegan began their educational career by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Education from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh. John then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Finally, they obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration and Supervision from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
